Takenari
Takenari is an original sake made from 100% "Ise Hikari" rice, a rare variety often called "the rice of the gods." The rice is grown using traditional methods in rice paddies overlooking Lake Kawaguchi with a view of the sacred Mount Fuji. From salt water selection and hot water disinfection of seeds, to planting, harvesting, and hanging to dry, every step is carried out with meticulous care. This sake project came to fruition in 2024 through the efforts of Mai Morita, the first Miss SAKE. Rather than mass production, this is a bottle with a story behind it—perfect for special toasts and gifts.
Tasting Notes
Brewed with Ise Hikari rice at 90% polishing ratio, this sake is designed to highlight the distinctive character of the rice. Drinkers often describe it as having a wine-like depth that goes beyond typical sake characteristics—ideal for those seeking a unique and individual flavor experience.
